Tell Them I Love Them

Day 25 of 50 days coverWhen I pray and ask for divine guidance as to what to share during these 50 days I consistently receive the impression “Tell them about me!”  And this evening I feel impressed to speak of the love of God.

Sons

I John 3:1(1st part)  “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God:”

It’s not enough that we are here but that we should be called the children of God–that’s love.  It means God wants us to be in the closest of relationships with Him.  I have been overwhelmed by people who have treated me like family.  Through the years I have received so much from those who chose to love me like a brother or son.  God has given me all that I have.  I can’t get arrogant because so much of what I have is the result of the kindness of others.  So when we think of God showing us how much he wants to be close to us and be our loving parent I can’t help but think that really shows an amazing humility and vulnerability.  God could force us to be his slaves but instead woos us to be his sons and daughters.

Sacrifice

I John 4:10 “This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.”

Everyone tries to be nice to the person who can benefit them.  The one who is powerful or famous has reason to doubt the sincerity of those who simply maybe trying to get stuff they want from them.  But the amazing thing is that God thought enough of us to sacrifice his son for us.  What could we do for God?  Yet He seems to put great value on us.  He sees us though the eyes of faith and love seeing what we can be.  He thought the universe would be a better place with us being his eternal family.  How awesome!

Salvation

John 3:16-17 “God loved the world this way: He gave his only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life.  God sent his Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but to save the world.”

Now sometimes I feel like sharing these things is telling people what they already know.  This text maybe the most famous in the bible.  Jesus tells Nicodemus that God loves humans so much that he gave his son in order to save us eternally.  It doesn’t get better than that!

So this morning when I was driving to school I was overwhelmed with gratitude as I thanked my Heavenly Father for allowing me to have this moment of existence.  I have gotten to know what a hug is.  I’ve cried tears of joy.  I’ve had many with tears in their eyes tell me what a difference I’ve made in their lives…it doesn’t get much better.  I’ve only been able to have these experiences because God created me.  And I faced many problems today but I talked them over with my Heavenly Father and had peace.

So today, day 25, I just wanted you to know what I was told to tell you.  God loves you incredibly much!

5 Reasons To Accept the 50 Day Challenge

IMG_7688

I believe you should go on a 50 day journey of personal introspection and public sharing.  I believe this will change your life and the lives of those in your sphere of influence.

Here are 5 reasons why you should accept the 50 day challenge!

You have something to say!

You have something to say!  As you have been living you have been learning.  And wouldn’t it be a waste not to share what you’ve learned with someone else so they can avoid some of the problems you’ve encountered?  And your idea or suggestion can be the difference in making someone else’s life better.

We’re in the middle of a famine!

If you haven’t noticed truth has been under attack like never before.  And quite honestly I have a hard time believing most of what I hear because people tend to say things to get you to do something that will benefit them.  But if you aren’t selling anything but rather you are sharing the good that you’ve gained from your journey through life won’t that be a breath of fresh air?  And the things that I hear people share who I know personally are such a blessing because I can skip the sifting part and go right to putting their relevant ideas into action.

You’ve changed but you don’t know how much!

Perhaps this may seem obvious but you don’t believe everything that you used to.  Somethings you’ve found to be true that you didn’t know until life taught you that lesson.  Somethings you believed are actually a fantasy but you didn’t really know that until you lived through some things.  But have you ever taken a personal inventory to see what you currently believe?  It might be one of the best ways you can see clearly what direction you want to head in the future.  Because it’s important to know what you believe and what’s important to you TODAY to help you decide what kind of tomorrow you wish to pursue.

You’re friends, neighbors, children, and co-workers need you!

I believe that our Heavenly Father created the world to work in this way.  There are somethings you need that you can’t get by yourself.  But with my help you’ll get what you need.  There are somethings I need that I can’t get by myself.  But with your help I’ll get what I need.  Our Heavenly Father smiles when He sees his children loving each other.

“A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so also you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.   John 13: 34-35

Tomorrow isn’t promised!

We all are accountable for the time, talent, treasure and truth we have received.  Would it break your heart to know that someone gave up on life who was part of your social network who might have continued trying had they just seen that uplifting personal message that’s inside of you right now?  A little while ago a friend of mine committed suicide.  I often wonder if I missed my opportunity to encourage them.  I don’t want to have to wonder again about someone that I know and love not having what they need from me to make it through their personal storm and pain.
