The True Church

Colorful HDR Luther RiceDay 35: The True Church

Many beautiful structures around the world have housed services paying homage to the Creator of the Universe.  But it seems that the meaning of church was transferred from the “Called Out” ones to a physical structure.  As much as I enjoy stained glass windows and gothic pillars I know I am called out of the darkness of this world to be part of a group of people who make up the body of Christ.

We find our purpose as we work together as the body of Christ.

You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house[a] to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

I Peter 2:5

4For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, 5so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.

Romans 12:4-5

We find completeness as the body of Christ.  We help each other.  We work together.  We are the church.

Today I will focus on the living, breathing church!
